My name is Lou Hegyi and I am the President of Spartans Soccer Club. I grew up in Paramus, my parents live in Paramus, I raised my family in Paramus, I have my business in Paramus, I'm a volunteer Firefighter in Paramus. Paramus has been and is my home. 

30 Years ago while attending Paramus High School, playing soccer for Paramus High School, I was fortunate enough to be invited to begin my coaching/training career with the Spartans Soccer Club. A group of us who you all know (Coach Sergio, Coach Glenn, Coach Mike), who are still coaching/training with Spartans Soccer Club, were invited to participate in a mentorship program that to this day continues. We were given opportunity to give back to the sport and community we love. Experienced coaches/trainers/moms/dads allowed us to work with Club level teams and create a next step in soccer education and development of soccer players in Paramus.

Spartans Soccer Club has always had a simple vision, to improve the soccer community in Paramus. The next generation of trainers and coaches are being created by your friends, neighbors, family. As with soccer players, it takes training, dedication, and hard work to do what these amazing people do.

We set a very high standard for who we want teaching our kids, we sponsor and encourage coaching education for all members of our club, we do not hire outside companies and organizations that do not have a vested interest in our program. We commit to our people as we expect them to commit to us. We are a family. We have built bonds within the community, we have self-funded all of our equipment, facilities, lights, sprinklers, nets, goals, supplies to never put a burden on the taxpayer of Paramus, every dollar has gone to improve our soccer program.

 
We have been fortunate enough to be allowed permission by the Board of Education, the Mayor and Council, the Paramus Recreation Commission to provide the best soccer education for the members of our community. We have built bonds with elite programs and clubs that allow our children to have a pathway starting from Paramus backyards to World Class Academy to Red Bulls Academy to United States National Team camps to Division I, II and III college programs.
 

Spartans Soccer Club goal is the enhancement and opportunity for all players to achieve their goals. We follow US Soccer mandates and curriculum to provide a consistent high level of training that best prepares our players for however high they are able to climb in the soccer world.  Our organization is a CLUB program, our volunteers support our professional staff and work in conjunction with the goals of the Club and US Soccer, they are INVALUABLE to our success. Volunteers are encouraged to achieve their highest levels as well, with our sponsored coaching education program, if they wish to increase their impact and influence volunteers are encouraged to become assistance coaches, coaches, assistant trainers to full trainers, all of which is earned and what is best for our kids.
 

There are many viewpoints on what defines success, 30+ years of producing well rounded young men and women that have a passion for the game we all share and love and return to is mine.
